BASEMENT BUILD IN CENTRAL LONDON

A tight meandering laneway in central London leads to a forgotten courtyard engulfed by multi-storey buildings.

MJ Rooney was contracted to build a basement structure for a small house nestled in the courtyard. Access was tight but we managed to get the necessary steel and concrete into place to form a basement excavation with steel sheet piling and wailers. The design required a waterproof reinforced concrete structure with drainage in a small lightwell courtyard. MJ Rooney used the latest 4D and 3D modelling techniques to effectively build the whole structure and solve all of the technical issues before we started on site. The project was completed with a waterproof concrete box ready for the clients to build a small house on top.
